Ms Jacqueline Wittebrood, AIDS 2010, Vienna, Austria

The Communities Delegation joins global advocates in mourning the loss of Ms Jacqueline Wittebrood who passed away on the 7th November 2017. We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to her friends and family.

Jacqueline was an incredibly dedicated and inspiring individual who worked closely with the Communities Delegation during her tenure as the Communications Focal Point for the Developed Country NGO Delegation on the Board of the Global Fund, and later at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. As the Communications Focal Point for the Developed Country NGO Delegation, she supported the Communities Delegation in developing the first Communities Delegation Strategy, as well as its operational policies and documents; and its resource mobilisation efforts to ensure that we could be resourced to carry out our work on the Global Fund Board.

Many individual members of the Communities Delegation is grateful for her guidance, being a source of strength, and always being available as our sounding board. In so many ways, Jacqueline was, and will always be regarded as an honorary member of our Delegation. The Communities Delegation will forever be thankful to Jacqueline for her support and will miss her warmth, nurturing nature, commitment, and principled approach.

Jacqueline has left us too soon, but the world is a better place because of her.
