Women4GlobalFund (W4GF) organised and held a workshop on Supporting Gender Equality and Human Rights Champions in Global Fund Country Processes from 28 June to 1 July 2016, held in Bangkok, Thailand. This workshop was supported by ViiV Healthcare, Stop TB Partnership, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the Communities Delegation to the Board of the Global Fund, and hosted by APCASO.
The workshop brought together up to 40 participants, including 17 community advocates from 10 countries to discuss gaps, challenges, and opportunities around country processes and programming from a human rights and gender equality perspective.
Workshop participants produced a statement that outlines what participants would like to see in the operationalisation of the new Global Fund Strategy 2017 – 2022: Investing to End Epidemics, and more specifically, recommendations on related country and grant processes as the Global Fund moves towards the new funding cycle 2017 – 2019.
The final report of the workshop is available here.
